PWP NEWS BRIEF: UNITED NATIONS WORKERS STAGE WALKOUT IN NYC.
On Thursday December 15 United Nations workers decided to walkout in New York City. The UN workers walked out in an expression of solidarity with the people of Syria. This according to Democracy Now. In a statement given to Democracy Now, UN International Civil Servants Federation Chair Dimitri Samaras said, "We stand united in solidarity with the people of Syria. We call upon the member states of the United Nations, in particular the Security Council, to take urgent, practical action to end the horror in Syria."
Dimitri Samaras has been asking for an update of UN policies in regard to providing an adequate response to staff and the families of staff who have suffered injuries from terrorist attacks. This according to the UN News Centre.
