If you haven't been to the Ypsilanti Food Co-op located in Ypsilanti's Depot Town you need to check it out because it is really something special. Located on 312 River Street, the Ypsi Food Co-op, managed by Corinne Sikorski, offers healthy organic food, a wide variety of natural body care products, as well as a clearly well-thought out and interesting beer and wine selection.
But front and center at the Ypsilanti Food Co-op shopping experience is the warm, welcoming, and always friendly atmosphere that greets you as soon as you walk in the door, and these days this is no small thing.
The Ypsi Food Co-op focuses on local, natural, and delicious tasting food. According to their website the goal of the Co-op is to provide healthy, tasty, and ethically-produced food. Equally important, the Co-op strives to take an active role in the vision for a sustainable community, both on a global and local level.
YFC houses a wood-fired oven which produces artisan breads and pastries. The bread is baked in small batches to insure high quality and delicious bread.
The YFC opened its doors back in 1975, and was an off-spring of a "bag co-op." which was operating in the early 1970's.
If you care about healthy food, healthy living and, community connection, the Ypsi Food Co-op is your place.
The Ypsilanti Food Co-op is opened each day from 9am to 9pm.
