The Cross St. Block Party: Back to School Edition in Ypsilanti is welcoming back to campus Eastern Michigan University students, but the weather is not cooperating because it is, um, raining. Hosted by Ypsilanti local business's Friends Closet, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, The Wurst Bar and Tower Inn Cafe, These Cross Street business's in Ypsilanti are intent on throwing a great big block party in honor of the returning EMU students.
The Wurst Bar, Tower Inn Cafe, Sweetwaters, Friends Closet, and Insomnia Cookies are teaming up tonight, as we speak, to bring EMU students and anyone else a night of live music, DJ, FREE samples, outdoor grilling and fantastic drink specials.
The bummer is that as of this writing the whole thing seems slightly iffy. I mean, its on for right now, but for how long I'm not sure. There was talk of the block party ending a little early due to the rain.
As of approximately 8:15 there were roughly 15 people gathered for the event anticipating a good time. Let's hope!
