Not My President's Day / No Pipeline protest held at Ypsilanti Water Tower.

A demonstration was held in front of the Water Tower in Ypsilanti Monday night protesting in response to President Trumps recent Presidential order to revive the Dakota Access Pipeline. Demonstration organizers were intent on bringing awareness to Not My President's Day, Dakota Access Pipeline (NO DAPL), NO Nexus, and Shut Down Line #5. The organizers also collected donations for Standing Rock.

Roughly 50 people participated in Monday evenings protest at the Water Tower across from the campus of Eastern Michigan University. Many protesters carried signs such as Water is Life, and NO NEXUS PL.

The NEXUS Pipeline is a proposed gas transmission line that begins in Kensington, Ohio and ends at a storage facility center in Ontario. The proposed pipeline would run through Toledo and Michigan.

  1. We had a pretty good time out there. State Representative Yousef Rabhi held a sign as long as his could, but was not dressed for the rapidly cooling night air.
