Pro Planned Parenthood demonstrators held a rally in Ann Arbor Saturday morning. Roughly 360 demonstrators participated in the demonstration which was held at the intersection of Washtenaw Ave and Huron Parkway.
Lines of pro-choice demonstrators stretched along Washtenaw and Huron Parkway in a strong show of support for Planned Parenthood. Nearby roughly 25 pro-life demonstrators gathered near the entrance to a nearby Planned Parenthood center.
According to several pro-choice demonstrators, prior to the pro-choice rally a pro-life individual who was in a car parked near the intersection of Washtenaw and Huron Parkway and allegedly spray painted anti Planned Parenthood graffiti on the side walk.
According to several demonstrators the police arrived and apprehended the individual responsible for the graffiti. According to pro-choice demonstrator Jamie Hunter, "It is my understanding that he came out and spray painted it and got towed and taken away. Hunter added that the individual allegedly had a concealed carry permit. To be clear, this information is unconfirmed and based on reports from several pro-choice demonstrators. Purple Walrus Press attempted to verify this information Saturday with the Ann Arbor Police Department, but was unsuccessful in obtaining information from Ann Arbor Police.
Pro-choice demonstration organizer Amanda Crowe told PWP that she was extremely happy with the turn out for the pro-choice rally.
